Mr. O’Flaherty co-founded Maverix Metals Inc. in 2016. He has over 10 years of investment banking and Executive Officer experience in the mining industry. Mr. O’Flaherty was previously the Executive Vice President and a Director of Anthem United, and prior to that was the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Esperanza Resources. He was a director in the investment banking team of Scotia Capital in Vancouver focused exclusively on the metals and mining sector where he specialized in providing advice to clients on acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and hostile takeover defenses as well as on equity and debt financings. Mr. O’Flaherty holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with honours, from the University of British Columbia.

Ryan McIntyre

Mr. McIntyre brings more than 15 years of experience in the mining and mining investment industry, having spent the last 11 years with Tocqueville Asset Management L.P., most recently as a Co-Portfolio Manager of the Tocqueville Gold Strategy, as well as the Tocqueville Gold Fund. Prior to joining Tocqueville, Mr. McIntyre was an analyst and then associate focused on mergers and acquisitions in the metals and mining sector with Macquarie Bank. Mr. McIntyre holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction (majoring in finance) from Dalhousie University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. He also holds the CFA designation.

Matt Fargey

Mr. Fargey brings additional experience to the Maverix team having previously served as Corporate Controller for another metal streaming and royalty company. In his previous role, Mr. Fargey was involved in financial reporting, tax compliance, public financings, tax structuring and integration of acquisitions, and managing the day-to-day accounting of the company. Prior to becoming a Corporate Controller, he was a Manager in the Audit and Assurance Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Mr. Fargey holds Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst designations and has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria.

Brendan Pidcock

Brendan Pidcock

VP Technical Services

Mr. Pidcock is a qualified Mining & Civil Engineer with over 25 years of experience in mining spread over multiple jurisdictions and commodities. He joins the Maverix team from Newmont-Goldcorp where he was Director of Due Diligence Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to Newmont-Goldcorp, he was involved with the Lundin Group working on numerous due diligence/corporate development initiatives, operations & projects including Red Back Mining Inc. and Lundin Gold amongst others. Mr. Pidcock graduated from the UNSW Australia and has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Mr. Beil is a practicing corporate and securities lawyer skilled in advising companies operating in the mining and natural resource sectors. Mr. Beil’s expertise includes securities law, regulatory and stock exchange compliance, capital markets transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, asset purchases, options and joint ventures and stock exchange listings. Prior to joining Maverix Mr. Beil was the Vice President, Legal for two gold exploration companies. Mr. Beil began his career in private practice with a preeminent national law firm. After leaving private practice, Mr. Beil served as the General Counsel to a private venture capital company focused on the mining and natural resource sectors. Mr. Beil holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto and a Juris Doctor, with Honors, from Bond University on the Gold Coast of Australia. Mr. Beil is a practicing member of the Law Society of British Columbia.

Brent Bonney

VP Corporate Development

Mr. Bonney was a member of the investment banking group with Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets specializing in the metals and mining sector. While in investment banking, he assisted clients in assessing and executing on various strategic initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, asset divestitures, strategic investments as well as other forms of equity and debt financing. Mr. Bonney holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Finance from the University of British Columbia.

Diego Airo

Director, Project Evaluations

Mr. Airo is a Registered Professional Engineer with over 15 years of resource sector experience in Canada, USA, Mexico, Russia, Chile and Ecuador. His previous work experience includes Capstone Mining and Kinross Gold, where he held a variety of leadership and technical roles in open pit and underground mining operations and projects. Mr. Airo holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Finance from the Pennsylvania State University.

Peter Winters

Financial Controller

Mr. Winters is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 10 years of financial reporting experience in the mining and natural resource sector. Prior to joining Maverix, Mr. Winters was a Manager in the Audit and Assurance Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, primarily focusing on publicly listed operating and exploration mining companies. Mr. Winters holds a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in economics) from the University of Victora and a Diploma in Accounting from the University of British Columbia.

Valerie Burns

Manager, Investor Relations

Ms. Burns joined the Maverix team in 2016 and is responsible for managing investor relations activities, including corporate communication functions and investor engagement, while also providing support and insight to both existing shareholders and prospective investors. Ms. Burns holds a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Risk Management & Insurance) from the University of Calgary.
